This morning, I worked from home because the water in our building at work is shut off and there’s a heat advisory, which means taking extra care about how long the dog is home alone.

It definitely didn’t have anything, at all, to do with the expensive skincare products that were out for delivery and would surely be ruined on the porch in the sweltering heat while I toiled away in my office.

Okay, maybe it was also a little bit about that. Let’s just all agree to stick with the first story for the sake of my remaining employed, shall we?

But back to that expensive skincare product delivery. I used to be a Target skincare aisle kinda gal. For most of my life, all that I knew about skincare, I learned from my mother, who has waged an intense battle with acne for most of her life and had plenty to share on the subject.

Honestly, the transition from trying to burn pimples off my youthful face to trying to combat fine lines has not gone well. Let’s be real, I’m still fighting off the pimples and we’ve just added the fine lines and that weird…
