Yours truly, giving a fancy speech at high school graduation in a terrible white robe (Photo credit: My mom, probably?)

After seeing several of my Medium writer friends take on the High School Days prompt, I couldn’t resist joining in. I tried to track down the origins of the prompt but it became a bit of a nesting doll situation, so I’ll tag the story where I was able to copy/paste the questions without any responses as where I got my start:

It’s strange because I am one of the older members of my IRL friend group, but am definitely more on the baby side amongst the Medium writer circles I inhabit. So I feel at once ancient and like a toddler when I look back on my high school years. I don’t think about this time in my life often because it wasn’t the best time for me in a lot of ways. But, just for you, I’m brushing off the dust and welcoming another year or so of therapy.

What is the year you graduated?

Let’s just say our 10-year reunion got cancelled by a certain pandemic.

Did you carpool?
